H.R. Giger Harkonnen Chair on Display at NY Empire State Tattoo Expo

Harkonnen Chair, HR Giger, 1981 Fibreglass (Polyester resin), steel, rubber

HR Giger’s Harkonnen Chair, was designed for the unrealised movie version of the Frank Herbert’s novel DUNE, which was originally to be directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky. When the film didn’t happen, Giger realised the Harkonnen Chairs apart of his furniture series. The black fibreglass version of the chairs are now a part of the Giger Bar in Chur, Switzerland, the city of HR Giger’s birth.
